Girl in Yellow

I’ve been feeling very uninspired lately when it comes to getting dressed. We’re in the last stretch of winter and I just want to wear giant sweaters because it’s still freezing outside. Well on this day, I braved the 30 degree weather and crazy winds and wore something more suitable for spring. I also just love the color yellow, like many other girls, and so I decided to be the human embodiment of sunshine. Both my long sleeve shirt and denim vest are thrifted. The scarf in my hair is from Madewell and my jeans are from Urban Outfitters. My shoes and purse are thrifted as well. Also, I know that my purse doesn’t go great with this outfit but it’s what I’ve got and I wear it with almost everything. I’m not a huge purse girl and can never committ to buying one out of fear that it won’t end up going with everything. Lastly, my scarf is from Urban and my coat is from a small boutique back home.

Summer in Fall

The leaves are starting to change and pumpkins can be seen everywhere, but the weather is still the same. Since it was warm and sunny out, I chose a breezy tunic to go with my favorite pair of ripped jeans.

Blazer and Bell Bottoms

Recently I watched When Harry Met Sally and was super inspired by all of Meg Ryan’s outfits and so I threw on this 1980s blazer. The rest of the outfit mostly consists of Free People. This fall try and mix up your look, straying from wearing a sweater and infinity scarf everyday. Also, the shoes are from a wonderful brand called Nisolo. All of their products are ethically made in a sustainable direction. I highly recommend checking them out!

I hope you have a lovely Autumn!

Classic White Tee and Jeans

A friend of mine and I found this hidden gem called Farm Basket. Not only did the place sell fresh produce and plants, but inside they had a clothing boutique and a cafe. The apple cider was delicious as was the grilled cheese with bacon and apple slices. The weather was perfect and it got me excited for fall! I wore a classic white shirt with a scoop neck along with cropped wide leg jeans and my favorite vans. I’m a denim girl and love that stores are offering alternatives to skinny jeans.

To fancy things up a bit I went for a monochromatic look. While I chose white, any monochromatic outfit you wear will look chic and cool.

This look consists of a white shirt with flared sleeves, a white midi skirt, and white boots. The entire outfit is from Zara, except for the plaid coat and purse. This purse is definitely a staple in my closet as well as the red lipstick.

The outfit may not keep you very warm, but you’ll still look good. Or you could be practical and wear pants like I should have.

Here’s to the weekend!

Sweater Weather in Brooklyn

When winter comes along, it’s easy to stick to sweaters and jeans all season long. However, if you’re like me and get bored with wearing just a sweater, here’s a way in which I try to change up my winter uniform.

Thrifting has become a new love of mine and the thrift stores in Brooklyn are amazing! Awhile ago I found this women’s blazer and fell in love with it! I’m a sucker for menswear on women and so I paired this blazer with my favorite sweater from Olive Clothing.

I also added a red lip, my favorite mom jeans, and everyday shoes. The converse make the outfit more casual and help out with walking throughout the city. Practical shoes that won’t make your feet sore are a must. I learned the hard way when I first moved here. Let’s just say, ALOT of blisters.

Lastly, I accessorized my outfit with a Kate Spade watch and Coach purse, which I also found at a thrift store! I don’t wear a lot of jewelry, but I do love watches. They’re simple and timeless! Except not, because they tell time and stuff…haha.
